BouncyBrain has announced that Full Steam: Fluffy X Machina is in development for Nintendo Switch.
You will join the fight against Krok Inc. in this roguelite beat ’em up, controlling critter pilots and their mighty mechs to topple an evil megacorporation in a diesel-punk universe.
With gameplay mechanics that promise “groundbreaking, mech-based combat in both single-player and co-op modes,” you can expect an experience that mixes Castle Crashers, TitanFall and Super Mario 3D World.
There will also be a player-versus-player mode that is “heavily inspired by the Super Smash Bros. series,” in which up to four players can duke it out in multiple arenas.
“We wanted Full Steam to bring the heart and excitement of our favourite animated films into the world of indie gaming,” explains game director Guy Bareli, who worked on animated films such as Minions, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Kung Fu Panda 3.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Go Tiny or Go Mech: Play as a cute yet deadly critter or call in your Hard Hitting Mech, every situation calls for a different approach.
- Roguelite Progression: Runs feel completely unique with Random Mech Upgrades, Weapons / Items and Enemy Mobs.
- Unlockable Mechs: Complete runs to unlock different types of mechs, each with its own unique playstyle and signature moves. Choose between Brawler, Long Range, Mobile Fortress, Ninja and more…
- Single Player / Co-Op Play: Call in NPC Teammates, or share the fun with your friends and family. Trust us, you’ll need all the help you can get.
- PvP: Duke it out in the Sparring Arena with up to 4P to see who reigns supreme!
Full Steam: Fluffy X Machina will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide, with a release date or window to be confirmed.
