SEGA has revealed plans for new playable characters and vehicles that will be added to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds through free updates in the coming months.
That free content roadmap will start with NiGHTS and the Dream Sleeper Vehicle (December 2025). This will be soon followed by Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi and the Banana Cruiser Vehicle (January 2026), with Tangle and Whisper from Sonic the Hedgehog IDW (February 2026) to also be added as playable characters.
Meanwhile, you can tear up courses with the next wave of the paid Season Pass content on Wednesday 19 November. This will add SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as playable characters, the Patty Wagon Vehicle, a Bikini Bottom-themed course, new SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired music tracks, and six different emotes per character.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 4 December 2025.
