Square Enix has announced that a free demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is now available on Nintendo Switch 2.
With the chance to carry your save data from the demo over to the full game, you can experience the game’s iconic opening chapter, in which the mercenary Cloud Strife and the underground resistance group Avalanche attempt to destroy a Mako Reactor powering the dystopian city of Midgar.
Those with demo save data on their console can claim the bonus items “Revival Earrings” and “Survival Set” in the full game.
With over seven million copies shipped and sold digitally worldwide, in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade you will follow the story of ex-SOLDIER operative turned mercenary, Cloud Strife, as he lends his aid to the underground resistance group Avalanche in the Mako-powered city of Midgar.
In the fight against the shadowy Shinra Electric Power Company, Cloud and his comrades are thrust into a larger conflict to determine the fate of the planet.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade also includes an additional original story arc, FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, which brings Wutai ninja Yuffie Kisaragi to the forefront as she infiltrates the city of Midgar during the events of the base game.
Those who pre-order the game can receive bonuses, which include:
- Original Final Fantasy VII game: For a limited time, those who pre-order the digital edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 will receive the original Final Fantasy VII. Nintendo Switch 2 players can play starting Jan. 22, 2026. This limited-time bonus runs until Jan. 31, 2026. Please refer to the store for details.
- Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Booster While Supplies Last: Those who preorder the physical edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Booster. Each Play Booster contains 15 randomly assorted cards.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 22 January 2026.
