With Tomato Town having turned into Tomato Temple in Fortnite, Epic Games has continued to run with the idea that Tomatohead has become a God that players should start to worship.
Their next (admittedly borderline genius) idea to carry this theme is to parody Dark Souls, in releasing the Praise the Tomato emote that’s now on the Item Shop.
Listed with the description “splatter unto thee,” the emote, which you will have to pay 500 V-Bucks for, sees a tomato grow in character’s palms that they then throw up into the air only for it to splat them on their face. Which I can only assume is on purpose.
Those that have played Dark Souls will immediately make the comparison, not only in name but in the Praise the Sun gesture that Solaire of Astora helped to become a meme.
The Tomatohead outfit (1,500 V-Bucks) has also made a return to the Item Shop, which comes with the Special Delivery back bling. There is also the Axeroni harvesting tool (800 V-Bucks), for those that want to slice up whatever materials they need.
Fortnite is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
