Epic Games has announced that a gifting system is now live in Fortnite, which, at first, will only be available for one week.
To send a gift from the Item Shop, players must have multi-factor authentication enabled on their account, be friends with someone for at least 48 hours before a gift can be sent to them and only three gifts can be sent in a 24 hour period.
As can be expected, any gifts that you buy cannot be refunded and you can only gift items that are currently available on the Item Shop.
“We know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting a gifting feature and today we’re excited to announce that for a limited time we’ll be offering it with the release of our 6.31 update!” Epic Games explains.
“This initial gifting period will last one week after the release of the update. Please note, gifting is not available on iOS devices because Apple’s policies prohibit it.”
How To Send Gifts In Fortnite
When you go into the Item Shop and choose an item to purchase, you will now be presented with two options: one saying “Purchase Items” and another saying “Buy As A Gift”.
Select “Buy As A Gift” and you’ll be able to choose which friend you want to send the gift to. You can then add a custom message if you would like. After that, you’re done! Your friend will receive a gift box with the item the next time they log in.
