Not content with only announcing their new Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Light Suit statue, First 4 Figures have followed this with news that they are working on a new range of Kirby collectibles.

This will kick off with Sword Kirby, one of the hungry Dream Land hero’s more popular copy abilities. It first appeared in 1993’s Kirby’s Adventure, seeing the pink puffball don a green pom-pom hat and wield a blade to slice his enemies with.

This inspiration transitions to the new First 4 Figures model, in which Kirby is striking with a powerful uppercut – the base designed after the Cookie Country level from Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. The polystone resin and hand painted figure stands at 16 inches tall, and is the creation of artists David Chung and Todor Kolev.

An exclusive version lights the sword power effect with LEDs, with each model coming in deluxe full-colour packaging, hand numbered base and authenticity card.

The standard ($219.99) and exclusive versions ($239.99) will launch in Q1 2015, strictly limited to 2000 and 850 pieces respectively.
