Fire Emblem Fates Edition New 3DS XL Charges Toward North America

Nintendo of America has shared plans to release a Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL, destined to arrive at retailers to coincide with the Nintendo 3DS exclusive’s launch next month.

Carrying a $199.99 price tag, the handheld is emblazoned with art on the front casing inspired by Intelligent Systems’ latest. However, the special edition hardware won’t include a copy of the game.

Players can instead choose to purchase either Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright or Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, each presenting two different sides of a brutal conflict. After completing Chapter 6, Nintendo has revealed that players will be given the option to download the opposing version for only $19.99.

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation will then introduce a third story, in which the main character chooses neither path witnessed in Conquest or Birthright. This will launch as downloadable content on March 10th, priced at $19.99 for those that own either version.

Fire Emblem Fates will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS across North America on February 19th, and in Europe in 2016.
