Final Fantasy’s adored soundscapes will once again reverberate around London’s Barbican Hall, with the Final Symphony II concert tour returning to the capital later this year.
The London Symphony Orchestra will play through an all-new programme of music on Saturday 12th September 2015, drawing on Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX. Nobuo Uematsu will be in attendance and will take part in a pre-concert talk to discuss his career, while fellow composer Masashi Hamauzu has arranged a new Final Fantasy XIII music suite that will be performed.
It marks the third concert collaboration between production company Merregnon Studios and the London Symphony Orchestra, who together also recorded the Final Symphony album at the world famous Abbey Road Studios earlier this year.
“It’s wonderful that we’re able to return to the Barbican with such an exciting new programme of music,” comments Final Symphony II producer, Thomas Böcker. “Performing the original Final Symphony with the LSO back in 2013 was a musical dream come true, and recording the album at Abbey Road Studios was the icing on the cake. The arrangers, Roger Wanamo and Jonne Valtonen – plus Masashi Hamauzu – have been working very hard on something extremely special and we think it’s exactly what fans of Final Fantasy have been waiting for!”
Tickets will go on sale from 10am tomorrow, Friday 20th March 2015, priced between £30 – 65. Whereas tickets for Uematsu’s pre-concert talk will be available separately for £10. Tickets may be booked through the London Symphony Orchestra’s official website.
