Square Enix has released software update version 1.0.1 for Final Fantasy IX on Nintendo Switch, correcting the music loop bug that has been present since it was originally ported to PlayStation 4.

The music loop issue, which has also previously affected Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, resulted in the background music restarting after every battle or Tetra Master match.

Final Fantasy IX is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide, priced at £16.99 ($20.99).
