Square Enix continue their support of the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan, with Nintendo’s website revealing that they are set to release Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls through the service next week.

As with Final Fantasy VI Advance, the Game Boy Advance port was handled by Kyoto-based developer Tose and added four additional dungeons, an expanded bestiary and gameplay tweaks.

It will see release on Wednesday 6th January, and is to be accompanied by Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart 64.

These Virtual Console additions come after Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife was introduced as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, along with a new Midgar stage that includes summons.
