It is important that Nintendo not only makes decisions based upon their own instinct and experience, but also in reaction to what is currently going on in the market.
Such sentiments were shared by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime during a presentation at the 19th Annual Digital Entertainment Conference.
“When everyone agrees that there’s a change coming, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the change or the outcome is easy to predict”, Fils-Aime discussed. “What maybe seemed like foolproof bets even a matter of weeks ago now seem a little less certain.”
He continued, “Nintendo needs to make decisions not only by instinct and experience, but also based on where the market is, and a determination of where the market might be headed. New forms of games are growing, but not necessarily at the expense of other forms of games.”
