Bethesda Softworks and id Software have announced that DOOM Eternal will release on Nintendo Switch, with Panic Button handling porting duties.

The direct sequel to DOOM, it was first revealed at E3 2018, and, set to an all-new pulse-pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, will see players return to take their vengeance against the forces of Hell as the DOOM Slayer.

With the developer promising to deliver “the ultimate combination of speed and power with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat,” you will fight across dimensions as you slay the demon hordes with powerful weapons and abilities.

The first gameplay reveal happened at QuakeCon 2018 today, and, in it, we see the DOOM Slayer’s new suit and the new Meat Hook attachment on the Super Shotgun, which can be used as a grappling hook to launch yourself towards enemies. The new weapons that are shown include the Ballista, which fires explosive bolts that can pin demons to surfaces, and swords, with the Plasma Gun making a return.

DOOM Eternal will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2019.
