Fans brave the weather to trade banana bunch for Donkey Kong Country Returns

Hordes of fans braved the cold conditions that are currently besetting the UK this morning, as they donned gorilla suits and lumbered banana bunches to a trio of GAME and GameStation stores to trade their bundles of fruit for a free copy of Nintendo’s latest Wii exclusive release, Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Nintendo had teamed up with the UK games retailer to ‘sell’ the title for a bunch of bananas, allowing dedicated fans to skip paying the RRP of £44.99.

“I love the Donkey Kong games”, commented long-time Donkey Kong fan Roger Tantchev. “I would have queued to get my hands on it as soon as possible anyway, but to have got the game for just a bunch of bananas is a huge bonus!”
