Weekly Famitsu has published its The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom review within the Japanese gaming magazine’s illustrious pages, delivering the first verdict on Link’s latest open-air adventure for Nintendo Switch.

That has seen their Cross Review, a panel that is comprised of four reviewers that each provide their own individual score, award the game with 40 out of a maximum possible score of 40 – which, broken down, saw it receive four 10 scores.

This is the twenty-eighth perfect score that the publication has awarded, joining the ranks of games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendogs, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Dragon Quest IX, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

The other Nintendo Switch games that they reviewed were Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat! (27 out of 40), Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! (31 out of 40) and RWBY: Arrowfell (27 out of 40).

The anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will take you across the land and skies of Hyrule, where you will once again have the chance to chart your own path through its sprawling landscapes and mysterious floating islands. You will need to harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight against the malevolent forces threatening the kingdom.

The game’s launch was supported with the Nintendo Switch OLED Model – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition, which includes a physical copy of the game, an artbook with concept art, a SteelBook case, an Iconart steel poster and a set of four pin badges.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
