Japan’s Weekly Famitsu magazine has delivered the first verdict on Xenoblade Chronicles X, their four-strong review team awarding the Wii U exclusive a 34/40 score.

That was broken down to the review writers awarding individual scores of 9, 9, 8 and 8, although it wasn’t the strongest score that the publication awarded in this week’s issue. That achievement was instead held by Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, awarded straight 9s to result in a final score of 36/40.

Their other Nintendo-related reviews saw them tackle indie titles that have recently arrived on Japan’s Nintendo eShop, such as Little Inferno (30/40), Super Toy Cars (26/40) and The Swapper (32/40).

* Little Inferno (Wii U) – 8/7/7/8 [30/40] * Nashi-jiru Action! Funassyi no Yukai na Ohanassyi (3DS) – 6/7/6/5 [24/40] * Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS) – 9/9/9/9 [36/40] * Radio Hammer (3DS) – 7/7/7/7 [28/40] * Super Toy Cars (Wii U) – 7/7/7/5 [26/40] * The Swapper (Wii U) – 9/8/7/8 [32/40] * Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U) – 9/9/8/8 [34/40] [Thanks Gematsu]
