Weekly Famitsu has published their The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening review within the Japanese gaming magazine’s illustrious pages this week, delivering the first verdict on Link’s upcoming adventure.

That has seen their Cross Review, a panel that is comprised of four reviewers that each provides their own individual score, award the game with 35 out of a maximum possible score of 40 – which, broken down, saw it receive three 9 and one 8 scores.

The other Nintendo Switch games that they reviewed were AI: The Somnium Files (34 out of 40), Grand Brix Shooter (30 out of 40), Heave Ho (30 out of 40), Pawarumi (30 out of 40), Desktop Rugby (28 out of 40), Jakou no Lyla: Allure of Musk (31 out of 40), and Rally Rock ‘N Racing (26 out of 40).

In The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, after Link washes ashore on the mysterious Koholint Island he discovers that the only way to escape is to collect the magical instruments that are needed to wake the Wind Fish.

The Game Boy classic has been faithfully rebuilt in a new art style, challenging players to battle enemies, conquer numerous dungeons, and uncover the island’s hidden secrets.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on September 20th.
