Chomping at the heels of this morning’s Hyrule Warriors Nintendo Direct, the new issue of Japan’s Weekly Famitsu has been the first to review the game.

You needn’t fret either with the magazine’s four-strong review writing team individually awarding the game a 9, leading to an overall score of 36 out of 40. That’s a fairly strong showing for Koei Tecmo’s collaboration with Nintendo, and success that they will hope will translate into strong sales when the Wii U exclusive launches across Japan on Thursday 14th August.

Announcements earlier today involved Ganondorf’s reveal as a playable character, Adventure Mode, claiming Ganondorf’s alternate costumes through Club Nintendo and the Hyrule Warriors Limited Edition Pack.

Hyrule Warriors will release exclusively for Wii U across Europe on September 19th, and North America on September 26th.
