This is the 25th perfect score that Famitsu has handed out – their Cross Review, a panel that is comprised of four reviewers that each provide their own individual score, awarding the maximum possible score of 40.
The other Nintendo-related games that have achieved a perfect score include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendogs, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinel of the Starry Skies, Monster Hunter Tri, Bayonetta, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Kid Icarus Uprising. Phew.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now available for Nintendo 3DS in Japan, and will receive a western release in 2018.
