Weekly Famitsu’s Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire review is in, with the Japanese magazine being the first around the world to share their verdict on the Nintendo 3DS exclusive remake.

Their four-strong review team delivered three 9s and a perfect 10 for Game Freak’s re-imagining of the classic Game Boy Advance adventures, amounting to an overall score of 37/40. But this wasn’t enough to dethrone last year’s Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, which had narrowly missed out on a perfect score (39/40) from the publication.

Other Nintendo-related reviews were for Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight of the Fafnir which scored straight 9s (36/40) and Hero Bank 2 which achieved two 9s and two 8s (34/40).
