Take IT Studio! and Green Planet Games have announced that their sci-fi adventure Stardiver is “coming soon” to Nintendo Switch.
The year 3076. After 387 days in cryosleep, you wake in orbit around a forgotten planet on which your mission is to investigate the disappearance of an AI research ship. Your search mission soon turns into a challenge for survival, after an unknown hostile force starts to interfere with your every move.
Zera, your ship’s AI, narrates the story as it unfolds and will guide you through 20 missions in which you will learn the secret behind this forgotten planet and work out how you can return home.
“Stardiver isn’t just about exploration – it’s about responsibility, discovery, and the quiet power of choice,” the publisher explains. “With its unique blend of narrative, atmosphere, and genre-spanning gameplay, the game offers a fresh take on science fiction in interactive form. Whether you’re drawn in by the visuals, the story, or the challenge of survival in a hostile ocean, Stardiver promises a journey that stays with you long after.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- A handcrafted 30 km² underwater world with colour-themed biomes
- Multiple perspectives: 3rd-person, cockpit, and 1st-person swimming
- 35 achievements to unlock
- Built-in screenshot mode
- Themes of AI consciousness, environmental change, and moral choice
Stardiver will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2025.
