Nintendo shared a menacing new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to close out this week’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

“Rise. Rise, my servants. Sweep over Hyrule. Eliminate this kingdom and her allies. Leave no survivors,” an ominous voice booms. Against Hyrule’s bleak landscape, we see Bokoblins mining, monstrous hordes, mechanical parts used to construct vehicles and Link leaping to rescue Princess Zelda as she falls in a scene from an earlier trailer. Later, we hear her say: “But Link, I’m not sure you’ll be able to stop him…”

The anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will take you across the land and skies of Hyrule, where you will once again have the chance to chart your own path through its sprawling landscapes and mysterious floating islands. You will need to harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight against the malevolent forces threatening the kingdom.

The company also revealed plans to produce The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition, which will include a physical copy of the game, an artbook with concept art, a SteelBook case, an Iconart steel poster and a set of four pin badges, with a price still to be confirmed and pre-orders yet to open.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 12th May 2023.
