Cherished by all and still ranking high among Nintendo’s many masterpieces, Super Mario World becomes the latest game to be covered by Did You Know Gaming?.

It looks to uncover more obscure facts related to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System title, such as that Nintendo had originally intended it to be a Super Mario Bros. 3 remake to test out their new hardware. That could be seen in the game’s early screenshots and unused sprites in the test program.

It moves on to Yoshi’s origins, how different Blocks were smartly used to alter the game’s difficulty, and an unused Koopaling sprite that was uncovered in the game’s data. There’s more on secrets, differences between the Japanese and western versions, that it was once going to be called Super Mario Bros. 4, and other trivia awaits beyond that.
