Australian developer Nnooo has confirmed that their award-winning game escapeVektor is headed to Nintendo 3DS later this year.

escapeVektor is a retro-styled arcade game, that places the player in control of Vektor, an entity trapped inside the console’s CPU. The player must therefore help Vektor escape the CPU holding him captive, overcoming obstacles and avoiding enemies – each with different hunting patterns and intelligence.

As the player progresses through levels within the game, escape becomes more difficulty although new abilities allow you to outwit and destroy the CPU’s army. Vektor is also able to unlock old code and memories that reveal more about its past.

The new Nintendo 3DS version will include new enemies, obstacles, extra levels and online leaderboards.

“We were delighted by the reception the WiiWare version of the game received”, commented Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We originally planned to have four Chapters but have now decided to roll them all into one game and bring it out on these new consoles to reach a wider audience.

“Playing the game in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS is really cool. With the background to each level pulsing in time to the cool chip-tune soundtrack you really get drawn into game’s environment”.
