Epic Games has announced that it has opened a new studio located in Cologne, Germany. This will be led by the founders of Factor 5, a developer that many will know for their work on Turrican and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

Headed by studio director Achim Moller, Factor 5’s “principal members” have joined Epic Games Cologne – which is part of “the company’s expanding focus on emerging forms of interactive media and streaming technologies.”

“At the core of Epic’s success are highly-skilled and passionate individuals,” explains Epic Games director of online technology Julian Eggebrecht.

“Germany is a nation at the forefront of technology and we look forward to extending our local presence as we fill newly created roles and hire exceptional talent.”

Epic Games currently has nearly 200 open roles across global locations and is accepting applications for positions at the Cologne studio. You can find out more on the Epic Games website.
