Bloober Team has announced that their explosive competitive arena game Brawl will soon see release on Nintendo Switch.

The heavily skilled-reliant bomb bonanza can certainly be seen as a throwback to old-school arcade classic Bomberman but adds in contemporary mechanics in an effort to make it feel more modern.

That will see you enter the Emporium as one of eight unique characters each with their own skillset that promises to introduce speed and tactical depth to the equation – with an equal chance to dominate the match.

The game’s release on Steam had eight campaigns and support for up to four players in local and online multiplayer modes, across modes that include Arena (Free For All for four players), Duel (one on one), Sumo (push your opponents out from the stage), Color Domination (paint the most of the stage in your color), Classic (no skills, only power-ups) and Team Deathmatch, as well as separate Challenge modes that will see you take out never-ending swarms of enemies.

Brawl will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
