Thunderful has announced that Ed Valiente has joined the company as their new director of publishing, and will be responsible for managing Image & Form and Zoink’s portfolio as well as to look for new games to publish on the Thunderful label.

Valiente joins after working at Nintendo of Europe for eight years as a business development manager, managing relationships with third-party publishers and developers. Before that, he had worked at Sony, Square Enix, Elixir, Microsoft, and Rovio.

“We needed someone to head up our publishing efforts, both for our own titles and potentially other awesome games as well,” explains Thunderful CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson. “Someone with ties to all levels of the gaming industry. And with Ed it all came together in the best way possible.”

It was back in January that Image & Form and Zoink revealed that they had joined forces to create Thunderful, a new company that will allow the developers to share resources and work on more ambitious projects – continuing to develop games with existing and new IPs under their own respective labels.
