After Team Japan secured their victory in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 tournament, Nintendo of America shared a pre-recorded video message from series director Masahiro Sakurai.

Admitting that he felt “a little apologetic” for causing so many people to spend so much of their time battling in the mascot brawler, before expressing how entertaining it was to watch everyone compete – as well as the unexpected situations that can happen in-game.

To close out his message, Sakurai confirmed that the second DLC Fighter will be revealed in the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation this Tuesday.

“As for me, I’ll be continuing my work on the next DLC fighter and more information regarding that will be shared in the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019 so I hope you’re looking forward to it,” Sakurai explained.

The Nintendo Direct presentation will broadcast at 9am PT (5pm BST/6pm CEST) on Tuesday 11th June, “focuses entirely on software,” and will cover Nintendo Switch games that are “scheduled to launch in 2019.”

E3 2019 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center between Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th June 2019.
