Super Mario Odyssey became the undoubted game of the show, closing out the Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 presentation with its massive, globe-trotting 3D adventure.
Players will call upon the moustachioed plumber’s incredible new abilities to collect Moons to power up your airship, the Odyssey, and rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s wedding plans.
With a return to a sandbox style 3D adventure – the first since 2002 GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine – Super Mario Odyssey is packed with secrets and surprises, with Mario learning new moves like cap throw, cap jump and capture to present gameplay experiences unlike anything that you’ve ever seen before in a Mario game.
Capture will let Mario take control of all sorts of things, whether that be Goombas, trees or a T-Rex, while players can also cruise around in vehicles that use HD Rumble or explore sections as Pixel Mario.
Super Mario Odyssey will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 27th.
