It has been some time since we had first heard that it was in development, but work on Pikmin 4 is “progressing.”
That news came from Nintendo’s legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, who had to narrowly swerve around the question to avoid getting in trouble.
“I’ve been told not to share anything about this from PR [laughs], but I can tell you it is progressing,” Miyamoto revealed to Eurogamer.
It was back in July 2015 that we had first heard about the game’s existence when Miyamoto had shared: “It’s actually very close to completion. Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.”
That was later reconfirmed by Nintendo, who had clarified: “We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present.”
While we wait, next month will see Nintendo 3DS exclusive Hey! Pikmin release worldwide, the brave space explorer Captain Olimar making a return for a side-scrolling adventure developed by Arzest.
