Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have announced that Dynasty Warriors: Origins is coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Through this game, the developer has looked to introduce a “deeper interpretation of the traditional Three Kingdoms storyline.” Drawn from ancient Chinese history, its events trace the Yellow Turban Rebellion to the climactic Battle of Chibi, dropping you into the heart of the country when it is in turmoil.
Through the eyes of a nameless hero, you must fight fiercely while making bold choices in order to restore peace and shape history to your own experience, battling enormous enemy armies while navigating the chaos of the Three Kingdoms era.
The experience promises to deliver “an overwhelming sense of realism on every battlefield, with the largest number of soldiers in the series’ history, intermingled and fighting with their own individual wills.” Enemy soldiers attacking in cooperation are extremely formidable, and you must not only fight with your own skills, but also charge forward with your allies to clear the way.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 22 January 2026.
