Nintendo has uploaded a new video that showcases “fan-favorites and newest releases” for Nintendo Switch this month, seemingly suggesting that Dragon Quest’s Hero will soon join the roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In a section about the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass, the video references Hero joining the battle. It’s unclear whether this reveals that the character will join the roster this month, as, in the video’s description, Nintendo refers to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate appearing as a “fan-favorite” game in the trailer.

The Hero roster addition will represent the main character from several Dragon Quest games, such as Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

The character is part of the Nintendo’s plans for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass, which, post-launch up until February 2020, will deliver five characters, five stages and multiple music tracks as downloadable content.

While this content can be bought individually as five packs (£5.39 / €5.99), the Fighters Pass bundles them together with a slight discount (£22.49 / €24.99).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
