Square Enix have announced that they will are bringing Dragon Quest X to 3DS, although not in the way that you would naturally interpret the news.
Compatible with any progress made in the Wii U, Wii and PC iterations, the 3DS version will run on the handheld through cloud streaming largely in the same way that has been achieved in making the game playable on Android devices.
As with other consoles, players will need to pay a subscription fee in order to continue playing with a 3-day, 10-day and 30-day pass priced at 350 (£2), 650 (£3.70) and 1,500 (£8.60) yen respectively, excluding tax.
Dragon Quest X will release on 3DS across Japan on September 4th, with still no word as to whether it will ever see western localisation.
