Square Enix has shared a four-minute gameplay overview trailer for Dragon Quest Treasures, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.
This spin-off game to the Dragon Quest series will explore Erik and Mia’s childhood together in which they set out on a treasure hunting adventure, leading up to their appearance in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition.
Living on a Viking longship, they dream of exploring the world in search of grand treasure. After encountering a pair of otherworldly creatures, Porcus and Purrsula, one night, they find themselves in a mysterious place called Draconia – a legendary land that is filled with astounding treasures waiting to be discovered.
The team soon befriends and recruits well-mannered monsters, soon coming to rely on their magical visions of hidden treasure and unique treasure-hunting abilities as you “race over open fields, scale cliffs with a single bound and glide over gaping chasms to locate loot in even the most fiendishly inaccessible spots.”
Those who pre-order the upcoming game from participating retailers will receive the following in-game items to help you on your adventure:
- Chimaera Wing (x5): Returns players to base immediately without losing any treasure.
- Better Buddy Bullet (x15): Increases the likelihood of a monster wanting to join the player’s gang.
- Fullheal Pellet (x5): Fully restores the HP of a single ally.
Dragon Quest Treasures will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 9th December 2022.
