Square Enix has shared a trailer for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake which focuses on the game’s new content, such as the chance to discover the mysterious Ocean Floor, retrieve hidden scrolls and sigils, or try your luck with the tombola.
Square Enix Team Asano is the developer behind the game, which, combining full remakes of Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II, narratively continues on from last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
You will have the chance to take control of the descendants of Erdrick, the legendary hero whose legacy is passed down through generations in these games.
This is the sixth game produced in HD-2D, a graphic style that combines pixel art characters with 3D backgrounds and adds high-definition visual effects in an effort to deliver “a nostalgic yet fresh visual style.”
The Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Collector’s Edition is now available to pre-order, which includes:

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 30 October 2025.
