Square Enix has revealed a new gameplay trailer for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, shown within this week’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
Square Enix Team Asano is the developer behind the game, which, combining full remakes of Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II, narratively continues on from last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
You will have the chance to take control of the descendants of Erdrick, the legendary hero whose legacy is passed down through generations in these games.
This is the sixth game produced in HD-2D, a graphic style that combines pixel art characters with 3D backgrounds and adds high-definition visual effects in an effort to deliver “a nostalgic yet fresh visual style.”
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2025.
