Dragon Quest Builders 2 on Nintendo Switch wasn’t the only news that Square Enix had to share at their Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 event.

It was also announced that Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II and Dragon Quest III will see release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS in Japan, meaning that every numbered entry in the long-running series can now be played on the handheld.

Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest II will see release on Thursday 10th August priced at 600 yen and 850 yen, respectively. Dragon Quest III will release in late August, priced at 1500 yen.

Those that complete Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age before 28th January 2018 can actually unlock the first Dragon Quest game for free as a reward. That latest entry has now been confirmed for a western release, set to release next year after localisation work is complete.
