Dragon Quest 10 Destined For Nintendo NX

Square Enix became the first third-party publisher to announce that they would support Nintendo NX back in August 2015, but such comments were soon immediately retracted as a miscommunication.

Now, they are ready to openly talk about their plans, and it has been confirmed that Dragon Quest 10 is officially in development for Nintendo’s next-generation “dedicated game platform.”

Asked by Weekly Famitsu about the server load on the massively multiplayer online role-playing game’s Wii, Wii U and PC versions, Dragon Quest 10 producer Yosuke Saito mentioned that the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo NX.

“I think there will be an influx of new players that peaks with the launch of the PS4 and NX editions”, Saito shared. “Up until then, rather than the incoming new players, we are doing our best for the people who are playing already.”

Thanks in part to regular content updates, Dragon Quest 10 is on version 3.3 in Japan. It is believed that the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo NX ports will launch with version 4, but, when posed with the question, Dragon Quest 10 director Chikara Saito replied: “Version 4 is already running, of course. It’s running, but I can’t say anything else.”
