Bandai Namco Entertainment has not ruled out releasing Dragon Ball FighterZ on Nintendo Switch, but have asked that fans first choose to support Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on the portable home console.

“In terms of the Switch version, we’re currently working on Xenoverse 2 for the Switch, so we want players to first go there, and then we can talk about FighterZ,” producer Tomoko Hiroki explained to Shonen Games at EVO 2017.

The fighting game, developed by Arc System Works, combines classic 2D fighting visuals with advanced 3D character models that result in an experience that looks like you’re playing in the Dragon Ball anime series.

With three versus three battle mechanics, players will choose a three-character team to take into battle with the game encouraging you to train and master more than one fighter and style.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC worldwide in 2018.

  1. This article is stupid. It’s already in Nintendo switch eshop on Japan in “comming soon” tab. So ounce that happens it’s going to happen.

  2. Xenoverse 2 may be on “coming soon” tab but FighterZ hasn’t been confirmed. Bandai Namco has previously stated that if there’s enough interest in a Switch version then they will make it. They are now stating that the way an interest will be measured would be analysed with the Xenoverse 2 sales. Which personally I think is a little unfair as I would much rather play FighterZ than Xenoverse 2. Especially by the fact that it’s getting developed by the Guilty Gear crew which fits the franchise perfectly.
