The Australian Classification Board has issued a rating for DOOM 64, suggesting that the first-person shooter could be coming to Nintendo Switch.

It was first released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997, and, set after DOOM II, saw the lone Marine that had survived the horrors of Hell return to Earth to reclaim the planet from the demonic invasion that nearly left the human race extinct.

Midway Games was the developer behind DOOM 64, which was created under id Software’s watchful supervision. The game introduced the laser-based Unmaker, which, after collecting three ancient artifacts in-game, would let the player shoot three laser beams at enemies.

With this recent rating, it looks like Bethesda Softworks will continue to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary with the Nintendo 64 classic – which will join the DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3 re-releases.
