Dodge ‘Em All Swordship Delayed Into December Release Window

Thunderful and Digital Kingdom have delayed the release window for their dodge ’em all Swordship, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.

The game has been birthed as a gameplay concept to answer the question “what would a shoot ’em up look like if you removed the shooting?” You will have the chance to speed through a post-apocalyptic flood Earth.

The consequences of global warming have forced humanity to take refuge in three enormous underwater cities. Those who are expelled from the cities struggle to survive on the burned lands, relying on successfully stealing vital supplies from the millions of precious containers that are exchanged between the three megacities.

Pursued by hostile forces in procedurally-generated levels, you will be challenged to weave your ultra-fast boat to dodge their attacks – tricking hostiles into taking each other out by smartly placing yourself between their line of fire.

There are different Swordship variants to choose from, which each offer their own unique active power to present a chance to experiment with ways to overcome each level. You can also spend your stolen spoils on passive upgrades to boost your ship’s abilities.

“Swordship is a game that requires the player to bet on his skills: the only difference between the top of the rankings and a ‘game over’ is too much confidence,” explains game designer Sandro Dall’Aglio. “We’re so excited for you all to try Swordship out when it launches on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC this December and can’t wait to hear your feedback.”

Swordship will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in December 2022.
