BBC Studios and Maze Theory have confirmed a new release date for Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality on Nintendo Switch.

In apologising for the more than month-long delay, the game’s Deluxe Edition will be made available for the same price as the Standard Edition at launch.

“We would like to thank our fans for your patience as we worked on optimisations for this release by offering the Deluxe Edition at the same price as the Standard Edition at launch,” the developer confirmed on Twitter.

The Deluxe Edition throws in a bunch of bonus items, which include: Ninth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, Tenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, Eleventh Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, Twelfth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, Gallifreyan leather gloves, Twelfth Doctor’s leather gloves, Cyberman gloves and River Song’s gloves.

This upcoming game has seen developer Just Add Water expand upon the VR experience Doctor Who: The Edge of Time with “brand new gameplay, new monsters and new worlds to explore,” and the trailer has looked to showcase “a first-person sci-fi adventure focused on story, puzzles and exploration.”

Wielding the sonic screwdriver on a universe-spanning quest to save reality, you will be guided by the Thirteenth Doctor and Tenth Doctor, voiced by Jodie Whittaker and David Tennant respectively.

As you work to solve the mystery behind a series of time-breaking glitches, you will be confronted with classic Doctor Who monsters such as the Daleks, Weeping Angels and Cybermen.

Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 25th November 2021.
