Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now available on the Nintendo eShop.
Delivering “a higher resolution and increased framerate,” the Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Pack is free to those who already own the game on Nintendo Switch. Otherwise, it can be purchased digitally for £44.99.
“In a world where the Gods are dead, you play a wielder of forbidden magic, quarantined in the prison colony of Fort Joy,” the developer explains in setting the scene for the game’s plot. “The Magisters of the Divine Order want to ‘cure’ you of your powers. But the Order has secrets of its own. Secrets that threaten everyone. If the world remains godless, chaos will rule.”
This BAFTA-winning role-playing game is set in Rivvellon, a world that reacts to who you are and the choices that you make within it. There are five races to play as (Human, Lizard, Elf, Dwarf or Undead), and you can choose to set out on your adventure solo or as a party of up to four in online multiplayer.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Choose your race and origin. Choose from six unique origin characters with their own backgrounds and quests, or create your own as a Human, Lizard, Elf, Dwarf, or Undead. All choices have consequences.
- Unlimited freedom to explore and experiment. Go anywhere, talk to anyone, and interact with everything! Kill any NPC without sacrificing your progress, and speak to every animal. Even ghosts might be hiding a secret or two…
- The next generation of turn-based combat. Blast your opponents with elemental combinations. Use height to your advantage. Master over 200 skills in 12 skill schools. But beware – the game’s AI 2.0 is our most devious invention to date.
