Nintendo has revealed Divine Pulse in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, a limited-use ability that can be used in battle.

This powerful ability has been introduced as a chance to rewind time, presenting the chance to undo a costly mistake that has resulted in you losing a unit – rather than having to restart the whole battle.

“There’s actually a way using Divine Pulse, where you can go back and you can redo the whole match if you want. Or, you can just go back a few moves,” Audrey Drake explained on Nintendo Treehouse: Live.

“This is obviously very powerful, it’s very limited, so you have to use it strategically. Or, you can choose to not use it at all and live with [your character’s] deaths. It’s actually a great way to not have to reset a whole 30-minute battle if something doesn’t go your way.”

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, there are three noble houses in The Black Eagles, The Blue Lions, and The Golden Deer. These are part of the Officer’s Academy, which is an elite facility that trains students in the ways of weapons, magic, and special skills.

You will play as a professor and must choose one of the three houses to lead their students in grid-based battles with life-or-death stakes.

The houses each have many different students to meet and train, that each has his or her own personality and skills. They will interact with each other at the academy, strengthing their bonds in a way that will see them support each other on the battlefield.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 26th.
