Gameloft has revealed The Silver Screen track for Disney Speedstorm, its free-to-play “cross-playable arcade racing experience” which is coming to Nintendo Switch.

This track takes inspiration from Disney’s iconic animated short Steamboat Willie, and, with a distinct black and white racetrack to speed around, will be available in the game from launch.

Asphalt series developer Gameloft Barcelona is behind this hero-based combat racing game, in which iconic Disney and Pixar heroes and villains have been reimagined as high-speed road warriors that compete on racetracks that take inspiration from their unique worlds.

The racers that have been revealed for the game’s roster so far include Captain Jack Sparrow, Mulan, Mickey Mouse, Sulley, and the Beast, whose stats can be upgraded and will each possess their own unique skills that “can impact the outcome of a single race and dramatically change the way to play.”

You will have the chance to race around tracks such as the docks of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, the wilds of The Jungle Book, the Great Wall of China seen in Mulan or the Scare Floor from Monsters, Inc., whether that be solo or challenging friends in local and remote multiplayer modes that come complete with cross-platform support.

There’s the promise that fresh content will always be “around the corner,” with new Disney and Pixar racers to “be added regularly and unique tracks will be released often,” with more details to be shared closer to launch.

Disney Speedstorm will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2022.
