With information surrounding Nintendo NX’s concept having leaked this week, Digital Foundry has taken a look back at some of the more impressive launch games that arrived alongside Nintendo’s past consoles.

That exploration starts with the Nintendo Entertainment System and carries up until Wii, with the discussion touching on how each selected game impacted the industry in different ways – whether that be through control input, graphical prowess or overall ingenuity.

Those that are chosen are Super Mario Bros. (NES), Super Mario World (SNES), F-Zero (SNES), Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64), Wave Race 64 (Nintendo 64), Luigi’s Mansion (GameCube), Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II – Rogue Leader (GameCube), and Wii Sports (Wii).
