Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a Digimon Survive developer diary, posted in the run-up to the Digimon anime’s 20th anniversary.
This sees Digimon game producers Habu Kazumasa and Tsuzuki Katsuaki reflect on the history of games, as well as offering a sneak peek at the upcoming Digimon Survive.
In the survival-strategy RPG, you play as Takuma Momozuka – a second-year middle school student that becomes lost in a parallel world while on a school camping trip.
Soon having the chance to team up with Agumon, they must work together to survive against the ferocious creatures that infest the parallel world as Takuma works out how to return to his own world.
The game, which will have around 100 Digimon species and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Digimon anime, will see Digimon evolve when their Digivolve requirements have been fulfilled.
This will see them consume EP (Energy Points), and, once their EP runs out, they will devolve back to their original form. And, their EP can be restored whenever they attack enemies or talk to their partner in battle.
Digimon Survive will release for Nintendo Switch in Europe, North America, and Japan in 2019.
