Capcom has revealed that Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition will introduce Weapon Switching in the new Free Style mode on Nintendo Switch.

This was revealed by producer Matt Walker from the Capcom development team, who revealed that players will be able to switch between all the weapons in their inventory at any time.

“You’ve only ever been able to switch between two ranged weapons and two melee weapons at any given time, right?” Walker explained.

“The way it would usually be is in between missions or at [a] Divinity Statue you would go and then you would set those two weapons.

“Now in the Free Style mode in Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on Nintendo Switch, you’re going to be able to switch between all the weapons that you have in your inventory!

“The way that you’re going to do that is by pressing the ZR Button for the melee weapons, ZL Button for the ranged weapons, and you can cycle through all the weapons.

“Or if you hold the button in and then use the Right Stick you’re going to see that there’s a radial menu that pops up.

“You’ll see that you will be able to pick the specific weapon that you want by holding in the ZR Button or ZL Button as a shift button and then selecting a specific weapon with the Right Stick.”

Serving as a prequel for the stylish action series, Dante’s origin story explores the events that led up to the demon hunter battling his twin brother Vergil, who wants to unlock a gate to the demonic realm.

Wielding his trademark sword Rebellion and dual pistols Ebony and Ivory, Dante must prevent the world from becoming infested by demons.

Continuing the series’ trademark for “intense, non-stop action with flair,” Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition introduces the new “style” based combat system – with six selectable options such as Swordmaster and Gunslinger.

It also presents the chance to play as Vergil, as well as to tackle the 9,999 floors that await you in the Bloody Palace survival mode.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 20th February 2020, priced at £15.99 ($19.99).
