Within CNET‘s discussion with Eiji Aonuma, further information regarding the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has emerged.

The series producer revealed that it would once again allow the player to alternate between light and dark worlds.

Meanwhile Link’s new ability, which sees him able to transition into an etched 2D-drawing, is inspired by Phantom Ganon – the Forest Temple boss character from Ocarina of Time.

Phantom Ganon was able to leap between identical paintings, with Aonuma suggesting “What if Link could have the same power?”

He later indicated that the game is best experienced within stereoscopic 3D, whilst admitting that not everyone enjoys the glasses-free 3D effect.
