tobyfox has confirmed that DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 will support cross-buy, meaning that if you purchase the game on Nintendo Switch, you will get it for free on Nintendo Switch 2.
This will also work vice-versa, but you will need to make sure that you get both on the same Nintendo Account to receive the second version at no additional cost.
“We’re gonna do (basically) the same thing on Nintendo platforms! If you buy the game on Nintendo Switch and decide you want the Switch 2 version later, you can get it at no additional cost!* And vice-versa! (Except in Japan, where local laws require us to charge a small fee.),” the developer explained in a newsletter.
“That’s right, for one single price, you’ll be able to get both versions of the game – that means both versions of the special room! Mee-yow, my FOMO’s clearing right up!!!”
This heartfelt journey of humour and friendship is a parallel story to UNDERTALE, in which you must fight (or spare) your way through action-packed battles while exploring a mysterious world alongside an endearing cast of new and familiar characters.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 June 2025.
