Hero Concept has announced that Doughlings: Invasion will release on Nintendo Switch next week.
In this second game in the series – coming after Doughlings: Arcade – the story picks up where it left off, with the game’s shapeshifting hero Morpheus needing to arm himself to defend his people from alien invaders.
The experience looks to deliver “a new breath of life into the classic arcade shooter genre,” with the player able to use five personas with unique skills to blast the aliens out of the sky.
There are 15 different breeds of invaders that each poses their own unique threat and five end-of-level bosses to gun down, with global leaderboards letting you challenge the world for the highest score.
Doughlings: Invasion will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on August 8th.
